Note: Students with prior riding experience will need to have a private evaluation first, in order to determine the appropriate ability level and lesson placement for each student.

About Our Program

Ballentine Farm operates a riding program focused on hunter jumper English instruction, serving mainly riders at beginning and intermediate levels. 

Students are encouraged to ride once a week, as we believe regular instruction yields more comprehensive results than attending intermittently.  Additional lessons are also available. 

We offer one hour classes, including tacking instruction and basic horse care education.  We believe in the importance of horsemanship knowledge on and off the ground!  Lessons are held weekly, with the option of private or group setting.  Students are grouped by age and ability level, at the discretion of the instructor.  We offer trained, sound and sane horses and ponies with patient and caring instructors. 

We are proud to have on staff a Virginia state  certified teacher for instruction, as well as a junior instructor, with over 30 years combined riding experience.  Our instructors pride themselves on instilling valuable equestrian skills and knowledge, with a focus on safety and FUN!

Scheduling

We are pleased to offer a flexible schedule aimed at accommodating your needs.  Lessons are offered during school hours, for children attending half day programs, as well as after school and weekends.
